HELP! I AM TRING TO CRATE TRAIN A 2yr. OLD
(read)
Lola's Daddy and I are going away to the Smokey Mountains to get married and will be gone for 8 days. Lola and Magic of course are going too. The dogs must be crated when we are not at the cabin. We aren't planning on doing too much without them but they will be crated some. we are tring to get them use to it before we go. They are not liking it AT ALL! ANY TIPS WOULD BE GREAT! They have only been in it twice and only for a minute. we did not shut the door and we did not leave the room. are we on the right track? Oh, and we got a big enough crate that they are togeather.

Two Stuborn Girls
We have crate trained two of our four doxies. From day one we put them in their crate for feedings. Now, anytime we get their meal ready they both run in their crates and even for snacks.
I think you just need to be consistent and if they don't like it give them treats in their crates so they will associate good behavior with being in there crate. Hope it helps and congratulations on your marriage!
