My doxie has a problem with not expressing her glands on her own, they have not gotten infected, but I take her to the groomer about every 3 weeks, for a small fee of 11.00 dollars vers the vet at 45.00. And for 25.00 she gets a full groom which includes her anal glands. ( I tell her she is going to the doggie spa ). Good Luck !

My standard male has developed this too recently. It seems to correlate with stressfull situtations for him. My groomer expresses regularly for me.
