Gastritis (read) My 7 year old male dachshund suffers occasionally from vomitting green bile and my vet recommended giving him a half a Pepcid daily as needed. It has really helped him. Gastritis My 11 old Herbie suffered from Gastritis beginning from the first day I got him. I took him to several different vets and tried all types of medications and almost every test available. I finally took him to SW Vet Dermatology and had allergy test run. Come to find out Herbie was not able to properly digest meat protein. He is now on a vegetarian diet and has not had any tummy problems for the past 5+ years. I hear that this is not an uncommon for many pets. I think Herbie's problem may have resulted from a breeder that may have not taken very good care of her dachshunds and Herbie may have been weaned to early and was not able to develop all the correct antibodies. Anyway he is doing fine now. I have found several very good vegetarian formulas if you need more information please contact us.
