I were riding my bike a couple years ago. I had a little front pack shed ride in. We were going thru a crosswalk and we were hit by a car.. it shattered my elbow. And tore off my bicep..and unfortunately killed Nellie. To go from enjoying the day to laying in the street and your dogs dead was a very hard thing to go thru. Especially when someones delinquencies at fault. It's tough but life goes on. I now have a little male Doxie named Dash. He's a smooth haired blonde.. full of energy. He's a barker but not a bitter. I laugh because I know if Nelle was still here.. I'm not sure she'd like that too much.lol.. Growing up the German Shepherd was the dog of choice in my family. So my first dog was a German Shepherd. She was a great dog I loved her very much. Then I picked up Nellie my dachshund and I have to say, I've never experienced anything like it. The Dachshunds characteristics are second to none. You'll never laugh so hard. They brighten up a bad day just like that. My dachshund Nellie think she is the toughest thing around. I have to watch her close because, there's no other dog she's afraid of. And God help you if you ring the doorbell because shes is not having it.lol. The bond her and I have is nothing I've experience before. If Ive loved any of my girlfriend's half as much as I love this dog things might have worked out.lol. everyone loves there dog, no matter what the breed. But I truly believe you have to be a dachshund owner to truly understand what other dachshund owners experience. it's some special.
