Maybe A Spider Bite! (read) This spring, Cyndi had what in all likelihood was a spider bite that got swollen, then was oozing stuff and got infected. Antibiotic ointment didn't help it. It required a visit to the vets and a course of antibiotics. If it doesn't start healing soon, please, take her to the vets. Better safe than sorry! Bot Fly Last night when cleaning the hole I saw what I thought was puss come to the surface. When I tried to grab it with the tweezers ibut it sucked back into the hole. I realized then that puss does not behave that way and started to just watch. Yes it was a maggot in there eating my Petunia. Well we took her to the vet at 10 pm last night and they had to cut it out. Major EEEWWW! She had a big larvae in there! They flushed it and glued the wound leaving a little opening for it to drain. Gave her a anti imflamatory. The vet said she has see a ton of cases this year on small dogs and animals. She said it can happen again if your pet has a small cut or opening in the skin.
