Doxies Love to Walk, but not hike!!

My late Doxie Kodi used to camp with us every year at Big Sur California. She loved the out doors, playing ball, stomping in the creek, taking long walks around the campsite. This one really hot day, my husband took off on a walk with Kodi. She left with her tail wagging and trotting along next to Chris. About an hour later, I look up towards one of the hiking trails above our campsite and see my husband trying to coax Kodi to keep walking. I see her just sitting at the top of the hill, sitting and watching him. I finally see him pick her up and walk her back to our campsite. He placed her at my feet and Kodi just falls over and instantly falls asleep! I asked him what did he do to my dog and he said after all the hills they walked, she just stopped and would not budge! He had to pick her up because she would not go any further. The rest of the evening she milked it! We had to bring her food and water to her. The next day she got up and instantly wanted to go walking again!
