Sweet Boy!

When we lose our beloved friends you quickly realize how precious the time with them was. They gave so much love and all they asked was it be mutual, and yes Oscar you were loved dearly.

Back several years ago, I had a chance to laud Oscar and many others...

...now, I laud them again! My little girl Bella Joy suddenly when blind this Spring and taught me even more about how Doxies love us and each other. She and her "sister" Maci Grace are once again teaching me more about myself as a doxie dad than they can ever teach us about them selves. I again feel for all of us who have had doxies go to the bridge and I pray that they will know that we all owe them more than they can ever owe us. To you Oscar and all of your friends at the bridge, a never ending DOTD day to all of you! Bella Joy, Maci Grace, Anne and Mike too!

Always Remembered

I have said it before and will say it again how wonderful Oscar knew what a home was in his final years. I lost my Herbie on 9-4-14 at the age of 16.5 yrs old. Had him from a puppy and miss him so. I am currently fostering 4 seniors

Hi

I had the same exact experience with my Maxi. Oscar even looks like my Maxi (I love me some white faced doxie). Maxi was my first dachshund and how I began to love the breed. You have to love the breed also as i see by all of the great ones you have adopted. Maxiandbertsmom

This comment is for Oscar's dad...

And Buster's dad...And Chester's dad...Takes a special kind of guy to adopt senior doxies, give them your heart, make them a part of your life, and then--all too soon! I am sure that they and the other Doxies of your life, will joyfully greet you at the bridge and you will be festooned with the love you have always generously shared! Happy DOTD Day to you, sir! Bella Joy, Anne and Mike too.

I find this so encouraging! Marley is ten years old, and I hope I have a lot more years to go with him. Thank you for sharing about your sweet Oscar!

Oscar lives on in our hearts. He is running, playing and chasing the Chippies at the Rainbow Bridge. Until we all meet again, remember.... there are Angels among us!

Proud Dad!

Dad, you did the best thing in the world, for Oscar and yourself.. found love. What a wonderful thing to find a senior pup, fall in love and give him the best years of his life! And by the looks of the pictures, a very fun one too! Love the shot at his 15th birthday, what a smile! He left this earth, to the Rainbow Bridge, knowing he was loved more than anything... you gave him the best years of his life! Thank you for doing that! I know you miss him, but he is waiting for you, and heaven has no clocks.. so he will just be so glad to see you when you can be together again. Love Roxy, Winnie, Redman and Blue, and their Mama too RIP sweet Oscar...

To Oscars dad

Hi, I have had the same exact experience with my Maxi, I got him when he was 12 had him 5 years. Best thing I have ever done. My friend wrote a nice memorial for Maxi, its on his profile here on DD. Stop by and you will see how much her words helped me with my grief. Maxi's mom
