I thought it would be nice to share some of our favorite doggie-friendly recipes here. I bake all of Bjorn's biscuits from scratch and am always looking to try some new recipes.
Here's Bjorn's favorite one (taken from the dlhealthandnutrition Yahoo Group)
Dog Biscuit Recipe

1 cup whole wheat flour
1 1/4 cup oat flour (put a 1 1/4 cup of quick oats in a food processor and process until really fine)
1/2 cup soy flour (if you don't want to use soy or if you have soy allergies - omit and add more whole wheat flour or you can use millet flour, barley flour, spelt flour, quinoa, etc)
1 teaspoon garlic powder [I skip this as garlic is risky for dogs -Raekiel]
5 600MG calcium pills crushed up. (Needs 3000MG of calcium to balance the phosphorous in this recipe)
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup UNSALTED sunflower seeds or pumpkin seeds (can also sub Grapenuts, Bran Buds, etc)
2 Tablespoons vegetable oil (can sub left-over bacon grease too!)[just say no to feeding your dog grease -Raekiel]
1/4 molasses
2 eggs
1/4 cup plain yogurt (can sub milk)
(If you happen to have any leftover bacon on hand, it sure makes these yummy! Just crumble it up and throw it in) [i disagree with giving doxies bacon or bacon fat so I skip this part -Raekiel]
Preheat oven to 350F. Mix dry ingredients. Beat eggs and yogurt together. Add oil and molasses to eggs and yogurt. Mix well. Add to dry ingredients. Dough should be firm but if it won't come together, add some more yogurt or milk. Roll out about 1/2 inch thick and then cut into whatever shape. I just did rectangles about an inch long by 1/2 inch wide. But you can make them however you want them. If you have a doggie biscuit cutter, that would be cute too. Bake on cookie sheet for 20 to 30 minutes. Watch them closely as they tend to brown quickly. Remove from oven and cool. If you want them harder and crispier, turn off the oven and leave them in the oven for another 30 minutes to an hour.
[I throw mine into a brown paper bag and let them air-dry for a few days before I toss them in my freezer to keep fresh - Raekiel]

Baked Yam chips
This is one my dogs love.
6 yams or sweet potatoes, 1 Tlbs cinnamon, 1/2 cup olive oil.
Slice yams or sweet potatoes into thin slices. Place on oiled cookie sheet and drizzel with olive oil. Sprinkle with cinnamon on top. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 min. or untill cooked and crunchy. Cool, store, and serve.
