Handsome Frosty Face
Smoothe was a good looking boy who constantly garnered attention from stranger. All eyes were on him, even when we had a ween puppy with us everyone was still about Smoothe.

SmoothesMom writes:
My first dachshund, Smoothe, was rescued from a puppy mill in Appalachia when he was two years old. Very shy and malnourished, it took Smoothe a few months to recover and to become comfortable in his forever home. After that he had an inspiring zest for life.
After 16 years filled with laughter and love, we lost Smoothe to cancer. Stories of his antics live on as we retell them with a smile and my love and obsession for him is carried on through my little dachshund gift store created in his honor, TheSmootheStore.com
I now share life with two Chihuahuas, and my dachshund brother and sister, Badger and Daisy, but my heart is still full of my short red-headed guy, Smoothe.

Happy Boy
I loved watching him run toward me. He had the best bounce in his step and joyful eyes.

Very 1st Photo of Smoothe
I have so few photos of when he was still fully red.

First in Flight
Smoothe visiting Kitty Hawk. Since he was shy an abused we hadn't ever tried to put clothes or accessories on him, assuming he wouldn't like them. But no, he loved them. He didn't want to take these glasses off. He was such a ham.

Sweet Smoothe!
It's so nice to see such a wonderful friend honored today as DOTD! The paw print he left on the hearts of those who knew and loved him will never fade.

And I hope that my two longhair Doxies are helping you celebrate your day on the other side...
...on this side, Georgia Belle and Maggie Grace pass along their best DOTD wishes along with Maci Grace and Bella Joy over there (see how the names keep repeating themselves?)! The best to you and all! Mike and Anne.

Remembering Smoothe!
What a nice tribute to Smoothe , who no doubt was a fabulous doxie. Even though Smoothe has crossed the rainbow bridge, the memories keep him alive in your heart. R.I.P. Smoothe
