Now we can see that lovely doxie face. We like it when it is warm. Mom keeps a fan on us in the summer and we still crawl in underneath our blankets. People think we're kind of silly for lying under our blankets in the summer. Your sissy is a longhair chocolate, she is very pretty too! Yep!....all those doxies are my family, plus an Afghan Hound, Giant Schnauzer, Toy Aussi & a Chihuahua. My mommy has participated in private rescue for over 10 years....she does all our vaccinations, grooming, teeth cleaning (more then brushing too, I don't like that!), she keeps us on holistic food which prevents skin allergies & all that stuff....we are all healthy now, so the vet visits aren't all that often...unless a rescue comes in. But she is much lighter than an Isabella - I think I'd call her a Wheaten too, just like Winston. Penny visits the groomer every 4 weeks so they can trim around her face and paws. Her hair isn't as curly as Winston's, so she looks like Albert Einstein when it gets long! My mommy has to cut my hair every 3 weeks or you can't see my face!...the longer my hair grows, the curlier it gets...the top of my head would look like a George Washington wig if mom didn't cut it...she shaves the hair on the sides of my face between my beard & eyes....we just don't meet many soft wires, so we don't know if all soft wires have to be trimmed. I'm a soft wirehair too and I was rescued from a really bad backyard breeder...I had a temp of 104...kennel cough...respitory infection & a terrible yeast infection in my ears.
