DOTD ALWAYS and FUREVER!

Hector you will indeed be greeted someday by all of those doxies that have crossed over the bridge. If you arrive before me , please say hello to my beloved Dewy, he'll be the one with a wagging tail and squeakie ball in his mouth..LOL

Amazing Grace

Meeting kind and loving people like you is a special gift. I think my Herbie was one of the original doxies when this site was first started. Baxter was a blessing and will forever be in our memories.

Hello Hector and Friends

I agree with the earlier post that Baxter shall be DOTD forever. I had to help my Herbie cross the Rainbow Bridge last month and the pain has not eased. I have the urn with his ashes by my night stand. I adopted 2 doxie girls from Dachshund Rescue of Houston last year and just took in a senior foster a few weeks ago. I understand your loss and appreciate the fact that you keep helping other doxies. I feel that any unfortunate doxie we help is a tribute to the ones that we love so much. My Herbie was only16.5 yrs old blind and deaf but the worse was dementia. Our love for our special friends never leaves. Thanks for all the kindness you show.

Good to talk to you again after many years! Baxter should reign as DOTD forever! All of the others, maybe too many to count but all remembered or with you still know (knew) that they were loved by an extra special/sensetive man. Again Bella Joy, Anne and I salute you along with Maci Grace--my newest (same age as Bella Joy from the same place, the Bucks Cty SPCA). We all wish YOU the best DOTD Day ever! Mike.

HEY fellow dachshund owner

I just love Baxter and think that it is marvelous that he has lived so long. I hope my 1 year old doxie Ralfee Sable lives at least that long. Plus i just love the other pictures of dachshunds. Im a really big fan of the breed. Take care and hugs and kisses to all of the babies.

You're wonderful!

Being a DARE follower we are always in awe of the dedication and love this rescue has.. and we see that you have given your heart and soul to these wonderful pups... May you have some comfort in knowing your love gave these pups the will to live up to 19 years old!! Being a FD is awesome, and the love does make up for the heartache.. but that heartache is overwhelming sometimes. I think all your pups in your home and over the bridge are celebrating today, ,,, ALL being Doxies of the Day!! And for having such a wonderful dad! May they run free and have no pain..and the ones with you, more treaters! We all wish you many happy doxie kisses today and always! Celebrate in being able to love the way you do! From Roxy and Winnie

What a beautiful tribute to Baxter and Andy. I believe they are celebrating DOTD on the other side of the Bridge today. Thanks for being the kind care giver of so many special doxies

Hector,

Will Rodgers famously opined, "If dogs don't go to heaven, I don't want to go there either! Send me to where the dogs are!"Baxter was a beautiful doxie as are his fur brothers and sisters--those who knew him and those who did not. He is, I am sure, DOTD in your heart everyday, AND HE SHOULD BE! You sir, are a beautiful person and I (we) are sure that there is a place of honor waiting for you--wherever the doxies are--where you will someday be surrounded by all the doxies of your life, and many more you helped--but did not know--just by being you and sharing your stories! Happy DOTD Day to you, my friend! Bella Joy, Anne and Mike too.

Dear Hector

I do not know if I can type this note to your because of the tears in my eyes after reading your story about Baxter. My Herbie is 12 yrs old now and I think God for him every day. He has made my life better just as Baxter had made yours. It is so wonderful to meet someone with a heart as big as yours that can take the sadness and still keep helping the ones that no one else may want to help. Congratulations to you and Buddy for how far you have come in returning him to good health. I enjoyed the pictures also of Princess Belle, Beezer, & Picasso. God Bless all of you and continue to do your great work.

Dear Hector,

The happy days that these doxies have spent with your care and love must give your heart the strength needed to open up and care for yet another little one. Thank you for sharing your stories and I would like if you would visit my "Maxi's" profile and read the memorial a good friend of mine wrote me when he passed. I feel that she did a nice job and the memorial helped me greatly. Sincerly MaxiandBertsmom

You're a Hero!

I cried and smiled reading your doxie page! You truly are a gift to these doxies. Never call yourself a foster failure because of the love you have for these little guys. Some people may not have the patience you have for their special needs and they thrive because of you! Itoo have lost two dachshunds that I miss every day. I almost lost my boy Riley this year to a coyote attack. But he is a tough guy and survived two major surgeries in one day. Anyway, continue what you do!

To Hector and Baxter -

Thank you for helping DARE by caring for and taking care of so many individuals. I can tell that you love each and every little soul entrusted to you! I got my Cyndi from DARE this fall when the jack russel that I had for 9 1/2 years crossed over the rainbow bridge the same day that your Baxter did. Very sad, yes, but because of this I found DARE and Cyndi! So, again, I (we) thank you for helping DARE!!!

You are great!

I think it is awesome that you have helped SO many of these wonderful little ones. I can't imagine anyone leaving a doxie behind, but as I know it does happen. Our little Penny is proof of that fact. I am happy to meet you & hope you come & see us sometime soon.

I'm so sorry you lost Baxter. 19 years is an amazing life.

I know how hard it is to lose your baby. I lost my 13 year old baby, Charlie Brown on June 12, 2008 to cancer. I'm sure your other babies are helping you to recover...but we will always have a hole in our hearts.
