It is great to have a buddy. It just takes a little time to get used to it all. Busy weekend for us. How are you doing? We are fine now & resting here. Mommy says that she has had her fill of pet emergencies for the week!! Penny is still getting over her vaginitis infection & had a situation with bloat earlier in the week. Today though was probably the worst! We had our doxie club meeting this afternoon & we got homemade goodies for all. Penny got too big a piece of cookie & it got stuck in her throat. She started screaming & crying so mommy ran over to see what was wrong. She thought maybe a dog had attacked her or she had possibly torn a nail or something. Pennys neck was swollen & very tender to the touch. Luckily since mommy teaches Pet First Aid & remained calm all was fine. She was able to get control of the situation & get the food to go down by massaging her throat & giving her some water. She REALLY did not want to make her throw up if she did not have to do so! If Penny had stopped breathing then we would have had a REAL CPR example at the club meetup. Not exactly how mommy wants to promote the course! It will be a VERY light meal for her tonight with something like rice, cooked egg white, & pumpkin. She needs to drink some too, & mommy will massage her & keep checking her throat to make sure there is no bruising, swelling, & soreness. So scary but it just shows that anything can happen at anytime so it is wise to be prepared. Mommy says she needs things to calm down now, NO MORE DRAMA!! Well, good meetup with our doxie friends otherwise. Hope your weekend was grand. Talk later. We are happy that mommy is back from her trip to the Capitol. It went great! We missed her so much though. We are getting ready for Chloe's big 3rd birthday party this weekend. Wish you could come! We are going to have people & doggy cake, treats, games, & fun. We had 22 humans & 20 dogs at her last party. We had a nice Valentine's Day & helped with our local doxie rescue group. The gal that runs it was having a fundraiser for the dogs in need of homes. It was nice to help & see our friends. Glad to hear that you might get a sister. That is great! We are proud of her but will miss her when she leaves next Weds. How are you? We are fine here & having great weather again. We are expecting rain starting tomorrow though. We need it! We just celebrated having Penny for 5 months. It was fun! Mommy got us some gourmet doggy cookies from the dog bakery. We love those & they are yummy. We had our local doxie club group meeting on Sunday. We LOVE to play with all our friends. We have been going for nightly walks & showing off our new stroller too. We got to go around town with it on Sunday afternoon. People always think we are a baby. Our folks say, "They are babies!" Well, take care & keep in touch. We have still had nice weather here in the 70s until today. It is now getting a little cooler & cloudy. We are expecting rain this week. We need it bad though. Sorry it is still really cold there. We are fine, & looking forward to this weekend because we get to help mommy with her 4-H workshop. Our mommy is an Am. Red Cross pet first aid instructor & is teaching to them this Sat. & we always get to help. She uses us as her live models & the she uses manikins for the CPR & choking, etc. Glad that you might be getting a stroller. They are great & help so much. Our old one we sold to a lady in our doxie club. She had a bad back & she says it helps her a lot!! Let us know if you get one. Take care & talk later. I hide their breakfast kibble, 5 at a time through the house, so they have to hunt it down. That can take 1/2 hr per dog. I hide their ball, and they hunt through the house. We use a kibble dispenser too, and put some of their daily ration in it so they have to push that darn ball around to make kibble fly out. Things like that wear them out! Miss the walks in the park. Chloe doesn't like to get wet at the beach, but Penny & Gretta don't mind it. Gretta even will run into the waves & jump & play. She is hilarious! Our grandma got us a stroller for Christmas 2 yrs. ago when we were babies (before Penny) & we have loved it. Then, this year when we adopted Penny it did not fit us any longer. It was too small & so our other grandma gave mommy some money & she bought us a larger version. They are so cool because not only can you go A LOT more places with your family but it also allows you safety around other dogs & kids that might cause you harm. In big crowds it is a plus. It also makes it easier for mommy to shop with us & has tons of pockets & storage. If you want to see the strollers, you can go to this website: www.petgearinc.com/Strollercollection.htm & look them up. We got the Happy Trails special edition model in Blueberry. It is awesome! Let us know if you get one. Check it out all over & try to find a good deal. We got ours in town from a doggie bakery & specialty shop called Tails. I don't like the cold weather. I prefer the nice warm weather, so does my mommy. I don't know if I would like going to the beach. I am not a big fan of water in fact it really scares me. I bet having a stroller is really nice so you can go more places. Mommy and daddy take me where they can. I like to bark alot at other things and they worry about me getting away. So we might have to look into something like. Maybe I would feel more comfortable in that.
