Thanks for coming by our page. You asked what the difference is between double dapples and piebalds. The dapple gene is very different from the piebald gene. If a puppy gets a single dapple gene from one parent, it will be dappled. A puppy needs a piebald gene from both parents to be a piebald. A piebald can never have blue in their eyes. The dapple gene is a lethal gene where if it is doubled, it can cause deafness and blindness. This is not a problem with the white in the piebald. Dapple to dapple breeding should be avoided so that there is no chance of double dapple puppies. Thanks for stoppin' by! I have a sissy Hannah with one blue eye/one brown eye....my brother Caleb is a longhair chocolate dapple....you remind me of him, but without the white. We are so thrilled you found such a loving mommy! My mommy participate is private rescue...mostly puppymills & backyard breeders....I was very, very ill with parvo when mommy found me....she wouldn't leave me at the vet, cuz the 2 doxie puppies a month earlier had parvo too & they died at the vet's office...so she got the meds & treated me around the clock for 6 days & 5 nights...I barely left her arms...the fourth day into it, I almost died....but mommy put me on the internet prayer list for animals...and within 4 hours....I suddenly popped up with spunk and boy was I starvin'....I ate a whole jar of baby food & drank all my pedialyte...I beat parvo!...yeah!...now I'm a lil' pistol....rotten to the core!heehee I have sweet moments, when I'm not beatin' up my Giant Schnauzer brother Reagan!
