Maxi you will always be DOTD in your family and I know they miss you more than ever! It's nice to see you honored once again so many years after crossing the bridge, RIP sweet boy you were loved.

Thinking of Maxi today

As I said in an earlier post the feeling of loss never ends. We have all lost friends and family , but losing a pet is some how more difficult. May you rest in peace Maxi.

When does the hurt stop?

Was feeling really down today, it has been 22 weeks today since Dewy passed and the hurt continues. I read Maxi's memorial and it helped for sure, as does having Willie and Tucker beside me. Take care. Brian

Still hurting

Thank you so much for sharing your friend's words at the loss of Maxi. They are helpful to me even now after losing our precious Desdemona on 8/12/11. I am going to type them up so I can read them when the pain strikes. May your memories sustain you.

Thanks

Thanks for directing me to your Maxi's page. It's hard to believe that my Baxter passed away almost 3 years ago and I felt all the emotions rise up when he was doxie of the day on this site's homepage. The Memorial left by your friend for Maxi was great. May you and Bert live many long wonderful years together until you all join Maxi again.

In Loving Memory

Maxi was a special little guy who gave you so much and your returned all his love to him. I know it has almost been a year since his passing and you will never forget him. My Herbie is 12 going on 13 and I treasure every day I have with him. I do believe there is a special place for our best friends when they leave this life. Maxi's story brought tears to my eyes but joy to my heart that he was so well cared for and loved. If you ever get a chance to read the book "Cold Noses at Pearly Gates" I hope you will. It was written by Gary Kurz who is a pastor who lost his beloved pet and searched for comfort and answers. Thanks for sharing Maxi's story.

Maxi was VERY Lucky!

And so were you! He had to be special as he touched your heart. Doxies are special little dogs that seem to always make us happy. I am sorry for your loss and hopefully you will find another special pup to love.

My heart breaks for you.

I hope your life gets a little lighter every day as you enjoy Bert; I know you'll find that love is exponential, and you've got plenty to go around!

I love Maxi!

Maxi was so gorgeous. I'm sure that it was so traumatic to lose him. I lost my Penelope on Christmas day, 2008, and it took a year and a half to recover enough to "love again" and get Twiggy. I hope he's playing fetch and getting a lot of treats in heaven and has a new girlfriend, my precious Penelope!

What a handsome guy!

Thank you so much for sharing your photos and memories of Maxi. I love his "suave dog" photo. I grew up with a red dachshund (have a choc. & blk/tan ones now) and still love 'em! Best of luck finding the new doxie for you. He/she's out there!
