From the moment we brought him home, we would take his nose or front paws & ring the bell(s) before opening the door & going outside. I was pretty skeptical at first that he would pick up on it, but sure enough, one day it just clicked & he went over & rang the bell. Sure, he does it alot now just for attention or just to go lay in the sun outside, but he does actually do ring the bell! He does live up to the dachshund breed though in his stubborn ways. Even though he's got a hat full of tricks, he'll refuse to do them sometimes.
