Two are certified therapy dogs, and the other is in training. Doxies are great because they can get right up in the lap with someone or in a bed. I also take mine to the public library for the kids to read to. I highly recommend getting your pup certified. She is a 13 yr old (white faced) red smooth too! Trudy is doing wonderful! Her eyesight was lost due to glaucoma. She has our home mapped out in her brain- so is still able to zip around quite easily. One might not even notice she was blind. However, we can't move the furniture! Blindness hasn't slowed her down one bit--she will bark at someone facing the wrong way though--makes us laugh! Enjoy your senior baby--she looks so SWEET. How neat to have Nikki to help -- Dachshunds never cease to amaze me!
