June came to me from Dachshund Rescue of Houston. She was at a high kill shelter and had been seen hiding in the corner or her "cell".. The angels of Dachshund Rescue spoke up for her and I was lucky enough to foster her. June has been the best & easiest foster anyone could ever have. When I got a call that someone was interested in meeting her my heart sunk. I knew I could not let go of her so I adopted her. June is Queen of my house. She is a strong, independent girl in a tiny body. If it was not for her being in my home while Herbie's health started to fail I do not think I could have ever been able to have another dachshund. June has been with me for 3 years and now has 2 adopted sisters plus my mother's little Pom I inherited . Senior dachshunds are the best.
02/13/2017 Today is an especially sad day since I had to help my sweet senior cross the Rainbow Bridge. She was truly a little princess and was always so very strong. Aging is not an easy thing to do but she did it with the dignity of a lady. Even though I had her for only a few short years I have a lifetime of love for her. You are now once more young and pain free. You remain in my heart until I will once more get to hold you in my arms.

Sweet Little Angel
The face may be frosty but the spirit is strong. June will remain in my heart forever until the day I can once more hold her.

Angel June!
June will be in our thoughts today as DOTD, and remembered as a sweet soul! You and Herbie are now snuggled together over the bridge, just waiting.
