Cara was destined for the business end of "the big needle". She was a Rescue doxie who had been a stray, adopted and returned. She was noted to be a killer dog, preying on other dogs and cats. Her situation labeled her as aggressive and with shelter and rescue dogs, their sad end is euthanasia.
Something about her touched me and I took her into my home. We sweated through a transformation. I believed so strongly that she could be saved that I enrolled in certification classes for dog training. She has become, to me, a near-perfect dog. The techs at the kennel and even the vet asks about her when she's not visiting.
Cara was considered mean and aggressive, not unlike the schoolyard bully. All she needed was patience and self esteem. Her "fix" was not done overnight and some days were questionable. The time spent to rehabilitate her, though, has paid dividends in loyalty and even charm. Her confidence and intelligence glows!

Hurray for Cara

Congratulations Cara for being DOTD and being fortunate enough to find a loving person to give you a second chance. I agree that there are really no bad dogs just some bad people. You have made our day brighter to know of great experience and change. Keep up the good work. You really are a beautiful girl.

We love your story! Wishing you and mom both a wonderful doxie of the day today. Love those ears! All doxies deserve a chance and a person to love them. We all are a little stubborn - but don't tell!

Congratulations Cara!

Bless your parent for helping you. What a great story. There are no bad dogs only bad people and I truly believe that. We have all seen people treat dogs badly and always want to intervene. You were saved little one and that is truly a miracle in my eyes. Not many would undertake a challenge like that. Congrats on your special day and many happy healthy years to you!
