Favorite toy:
Stan has many, many toys, but prefers his plush piggy, which he brings to bed with him.
Favorite spot to sleep:
Deep under the covers between Mommy and Daddy, or on the back of the couch basking in the sun.
Archenemy:
Any other dogs spotted being walked by the front of the house is a potential enemy, but his arch-rival is the mailman.

We always say we rescued Stan from a pet shop, as we'd vowed not to ever buy a dog from one. But when we saw those beautiful blue eyes and (to us at the time) unusual markings, it was love at first sight.
Stan was to be a companion for our basset hound, Molly, who we found out later that very day was suffering from advanced cancer (she never let on and showed no signs of being sick); Stan stepped up to the plate, though, and was a good friend to her in her final months. For a little dog, he has a huge personality, and his comical antics and particular doxie behavior helped to fill the void when Molly passed on.
Three years later, he his still making us laugh, warming our hearts and exasperating us as only a dachshund can.

WOW.. are you a handsome boy!! Your coloring was so different looking as a pup! I love your deep red and white markings now! Super cool! Of course, we all are amazed by your fantastic eyes!! Sounds like you give your mama and daddy a run for their money! Like all of us do!!! love Winnie

You are one gorgeous boy, Stan! Haley and Galaxy think you're HOT! Those beautiful blue eyes, which I've never seen in a doxie, are killer. Your portrait is smashing. The girls wish they could meet you in person.
