Baxter came to us through the Connecticut based Next Stop Forever small breed rescue. Our silly little man was found as a stray in South Carolina. Who could possibly let him roam around on his own? Next Stop Forever rescued him from a high-kill shelter and brought him to CT. I found him on Petfinder and the wonderful couple fostering him brought him to visit us in Providence and to meet our other doxie, Maddie. Luckily, the two hit it off immediately and Baxter never left!
He is a silly, sweet little man. His greatest joy in life is to lay in your arms for belly rubs. Should your attention be briefly diverted, he will let out the funniest little whine and raises his paw in your direction to get the belly rubs going again. Like a true doxie, he loves to burrow into blankets and pillows. Often, we will see only a lump moving under a blanket and we call that "blanket monster." When he decides to get up and get moving he sometimes just carries the blanket on his back as a cape. As you can imagine, he makes us laugh every single day. We are so lucky to have him!

Baxie likes to beg for attention. Of course, he usually gets his way.
