My husband and I brought our dogs to the local dog food store when Kathy from Paws and Claws Rescue saw me with our Dachshunds and said, " I see you have experience with Doxies, you wouldn't happen to want another one would you?" Just as she is saying that my husband rounds the corner with our other two rescues and we both say "no" in unison. We had only been married for a short time and it was really cute when we were dating...he had two rescues and I had two. Madness under one roof and we finally had it all under control. Kathy, bless her heart was undeterred and proceeded to tell us of a wonderful little boy who had been bounced from place to place and even return to the rescue because he wouldn't listen and wasn't trainable. She told us that we could schedule a visit to meet him if we wanted...no strings attached of course. We met Franke the next weekend and fell in love with his fun loving attitude and wonderful personality. AND no one can resist his face and love for attention. We brought him home for a weekend sleep over and he will be with us for the rest of his life. Come to find out Franke is deaf! It wasn't that he can't learn because he won't listen, he couldn't hear. Now, he has learned sign language and is the perfect addition to our large family!

Hi Franke
Wow... What a touching story. Franke is one lucky little guy. (Maybe it's the other way around ~ right?) He is so dang handsome with a face no one could resist. I bet he is doing fantastic now that he is in a stable home. Bless you for loving the little man. Congrats to Franke for being our DOTD today too. Hugs, Lily Belle

Hello Franke!
Congrats on being DOTD! Glad that you found your forever home with lots of dog siblings! It looks like a lot of fun over at your house. I hope that today (and everyday) brings plenty of treats and belly rubs. Tail Wags and Kisses, Yoshi in Chicago
