We adopted Gus on September 17, 2012. He was found running the streets and when Happy Tails shelter put his picture in the paper for adoption, we went out to see him. We brought him home on a 3 day trial, but less than one day home with us, we decided that he had to be part of our family..
We named him after our favorite character on the mini series Lonesome Dove.
My husband and I love him so much. He makes us laugh with all his funny little antics. His favorite things are his rawhides. (We quit buying toys, he could tear them up to easlly and we were afraid he would swallow some and have digestive trouble, like a friend of ours little dog had.)
He loves our little grand daughters Jessi and Erin. When he hears there voices on the cell phone ring tones, he perks his ears up and goes hunting for them. Gus goes almost everywhere with us. He sleeps in his crate at night on a pillow, (yes he is spoiled) . He is a wonderful addition to our family. God sent him into our lives to enjoy in our retirement years.
