Bruni Too sweet!!First off, I am amazed! 17 Doxie's? You have a real live pack in your home. I could only dream. lol. As for Hugo, I had never heard anyone in the Dachshund community in England call him brindle. In fact, he is registered as a dapple. I think the markings on his body are more in line with that. I do agree that his facial markings, upon closer inspection, are more brindle than dapple. But, his body markings, especially his back and chest definitely dapple. The pics just don't show that. As for his coloring, my husband worked very hard to find me a Doxie in the UK. They are anything but common. So in a very longwinded response, his black and red coloring is very rare. I haven't actually seen anything like him- colorwise. His mother was a gold and his father a red so how he ended up black and red is a mystery to me. lol, oh well. He could be bald and I'd love him!
