It's the second one I've had since I came to live with mom. I don't know what it is, but we have a ton of bunnies in the neighborhood. Our street is 2 streets away from a large field. It turns out I have to chase a bunny out of my yard almost every night. I LIVE to go outside and to take our walks around the neighborhood because I can find bunnies. Sometimes I pretend like I have to potty so mom will let me out in the backyard and I can check for bunnies. One time, on one of our walks, I saw 5 bunnies out together. About 2 days ago, mom and I were out in the back yard (she still goes out with me) and I was checking out a pot (for plants) that sits by the fence. And I saw another bunny! I lunged and grabbed it in my mouth. It squeaked and mom started yelling no no no no no! and (much to mom's surprise), I let it go! It ran into a shrub and I slinked over to mom like I was in trouble. Mom petted me and let me know I wasn't in trouble and gave me a treat for letting go of the bunny. I just don't understand why she doesn't like them as much as I do. The 2 I have taken down so far were babies. The adults run me around the back yard 2 or 3 times before they escape between the slats of the fence. So how are you guys with the whole fireworks thing? I HATE them. HATE the sound. If mom is on the couch, I try to get between her back and the back of the couch with my head next to the arm rest. Mom doesn't use fireworks but I can still hear them in other people's yards and there are a couple parks only a few miles away from here. I hope you guys are having a great weekend and that your weather allows you to do stuff outside. It is ridiculously hot here now. This morning, there was condensation on the outside of our windows. Mom doesn't remember seeing that before when the weather has been dry. We're consistently in the 70's now and approaching the 80's. Some of the days have been so beautiful. On the weekends, or the days Mom works from home, she leaves the back door open and the cats and I come in and out as we please. I end up taking many of my toys outside and then I fall asleep on the warm rocks. It's heaven. I flushed a bunny from our shrubs this morning. It was great fun. Usually they're just hanging out visible in the back yard, those dumb bunnies. But this one was hiding and I smelled him. Didn't take me long to find him and shoo him into the next yard (they have a bigger dog - HA!) We've been hanging out at home while Mom goes to work. She comes home around lunchtime to let us out to do our business. Then she goes back to work. We haven't had much out time....though, we did get to go to the dog park today! It was only about 34 degrees at 10:30am. We (Mom, too) bundled up and off we went. It's supposed to get back to more seasonal temperatures (60s) by Thursday. Can't be soon enough for us!!! We did get to go with Mom Thursday afternoon and went for a quick walk with Aunt Debbie and Cousin Benji. Hope you and Jazz Man are staying safe and warm in all that snow and really cold temps. Where did your mom live? My mom is not a huge Dallas Cowboys fan. She is from Pittsburgh and there was (if there still isn't) a rivalry between the Steelers and the Cowboys. Having said that, there is no allegiance to the Eagles, particularly since Michael Vick plays for them. So, tonight we're routing for the Cowboys. Mom laughed at Longhorns, Cowboys, and God. People are servious about their football, even high school football, down here. Mom went to the University of Texas, so we were bummed that Texas didn't win the BCS Championship but, you know, there's always next year. It is crazy cold (for us) down here. We're breaking cold records, particularly this weekend. I think the low last night was 12 (they said 9 in some surrounding areas) and we might get snow Sunday night. (It snows like once every 4 years here. My mom had a vacation several years ago in Birmingham, MI, and says it was absolutely beautiful. How cold is it for you guys? Do you wear sweaters and stuff in the house? I seem to like the cold weather so mom doesn't make me wear a sweater indoors (well, plus, we have heat :) )but she makes me put on my coat to go outside. I hope it warms up soon because we're not going for walks in this cold weather. I just need 10 degrees more and then we can start going. Are you routing for the Cowboys tonight? Yikes! I think I'm getting used to them but initially, I was not a fan. Yeah, and the hats are my least favorite part. Mom laughed at your price tag comment and we think you are still preciously adorable in the photo with the hat hanging on the side of your head - and in the photo where you're sitting up (I don't do a lot of that; I should try that more often). I am a short-haired red tweenie and my mom adopted me from Central Texas Dachshund Rescue.
