My name was Gretel. Daddy bought me for Mama when their infant little girl passed away. I was a godsend to Mama. I was also very spoiled. I weighed only 2 lbs when Mama and Daddy got me. I sat in Mama's hand on the way home. My favorite thing to do was to crawl in the doghouse and lie on top of my brother Max and my sister Schnitlze. I loved to play ball and chase the birds. I tried to show my younger brother Patches how to catch a squirrel but he just couldn't get it. I was known as the "ratdog" because when Mama was in another room she would sing the theme song grom Batman (Na Na Na Na Batman) only she would say Ratdog. I would come running everytime. I went to the rainbox bridge in 1998. My Mama was so sad. She still misses me every day. I have a sister now named Maddie. Her full name is Miss Gretel's Kleine Madchen, or Miss Gretel's little girl. As you probably guessed she came to live with Mama when I went to the bridge.

You already know that the bridge is only a tempory barrier between those you love and those who love you. Enjoy being DOTD on your side and enjoy playing with Patches today! Someday, all of us will play together. Thank your family for sharing your story with us. Bella Joy, Anne and Mike too.
