When I started thinking about getting a dog last year, I considered other breeds, but having grown up with a dachshund, they've always been my favorite.
I brought Molly home from Porth Kennels in Lexington, SC last August when she was just 8 weeks old. On my first visit, I had my eye on a black/tan male puppy, but he just wasn't interested in me. But, Miss Molly Kate kept climbing up on my lap, then going to play and coming back to me. She is named after her g'ma (Molly) and her mama (Katie).
She loves going for walks, sniffing everything on the ground. She's leery of children, but when it comes to adults, she's never seen a stranger.
Update: I will be bringing a new sister home for Molly tomorrow. She's a black/tan doxie coming from Dachshund Rescue of N. America. I'll post a page for her soon too!
