Rest in Peace, my sweet little baby Otis. I love you forever and ever! I had to say my final good-bye June 16, 2009. The most devastating day of my life. I hope I can keep his page here in his memory.
[Written before 6/16/09]: Otis was the absolute best gift ever given to me. Valentine's Day 2005, when he was 2 months old, and I was 6 months pregnant. When he was only 10 months old, he was diagnosed with GME, and shortly after that he developed IVDD, which I've been advised against having him operated on because anesthesia is such a huge risk for dogs with lesions on the brain.
I nearly lost him September 30, 2007 due to a heat stroke, but this little fella has a strong will to survive and wants to stay around to continue getting special love from his mommy. He has his special needs and his special place in my heart forever.
Otis turned 4 on December 15th. It has been close to four years now since his diagnosis. Dogs with GME don't typically live very long after diagnosis, and since the Prednisone and Cyclosporine seemed to be doing him more harm than good, I took him off medications (except for the occasional valium for seizures) and just continue to give him BIG doses of love instead.

I'm so Oti-licious!
I might not be "normal" but I'm still irresistably adorable! May 2008.

Mommy's Little Boy
The sign above our head: "The measure of love is to love without measure." How appropriate. My mommy does a lot to make me comfy, and I show her my appreciation by giving her unconditional love. December 2008.

I'm tired....do I have to get up?
Awww...man...she has that camera out again. Does this mean she wants me to look pretty? May 2009

I'm a huntin' wabbits...shhhh.... (May 2008)

Hey, don't laugh at the way I sleep!
I bet you look funny when you snore too! (This is me when I was still a baby. And my mommy even loved my overbite.) Wow, and this was back when my hind legs bent and worked properly, and I didn't run into things.

Me & My T-Rex
When I was about 3 months old. This was my first T-Rex. I'm on my 4th one now. Big brother Samson ate three of them already.

Irresistable!
How could anyone resist a cute little face like mine? April 2005, before I started showing any signs of my "condition." My back was still straight and I didn't have a head tilt. There's a baby in Mommy's belly...but I was here first!

Just a word too you Dori31
Came across Otis' page today and wanted to comment on your loss. BellaJoy came to Anne and me less than a month before your Otis had to take his leave. In the year (plus a bit) I've come to believe that the relationships between dogs and their people go on and on, even beyond worldly passing. Know and believe that a healthly, happy Otis waits for you beyond the bridge and will festoon you with love and kisses some day in the future. Best of everything and much happiness with both of Otis's siblings! Bucks County Mike, Anne and especially BellaJoy!

More Kisses
More flowers from my heart to your page, sweetheart. It's been nearly a year, and I know you're in a better place waiting for me, but I still miss you immensely. Your pictures are still everywhere in my house. On my laptop when I log in. By the front door where my keys are. I pick up the other dogs and kiss them and think of you as well. Not a single day goes by that I don't think of you. My heart still hurts every day. The tears are falling now, this very minute. Kisses and hugs...Mommy.

Thanks so much for the kind words. it's been hard not having Graham around. I keep telling myself he's in a better place now with no pain. Tomorrow my husband goes to get another pup from the breeder where we got Graham. The breeder is trying to make things right. I know it will never bring him back.I love Otis's page! He looks like a real sweetheart.
