By far, it's his brother Brody.

On Mama. Anywhere on Mama. Or snuggled up in a dog pile with his brothers and sister, Opal.

Little Jonely Bonely was purchased as a 10 week old puppy by a family "for the kids" at a pet shop ($700 without papers) in Vancouver, Washington. Within 2 weeks, the children had broken Jonely's tail and lost interest in the puppy. The family dropped Jonely off at the local animal shelter I was working in as a "donation." One of the children was holding Jonely by his chest and swinging him around in the lobby of the shelter while the parents discussed getting another puppy for the kids. "Maybe something bigger this time." I quickly gathered the 12 week old puppy to myself and scuttled him away. He was extremely traumatized and fairly fear aggressive. I wrapped him in a blanket and decided I would foster him until I could find the right home for him. Jonely joined my pack and settled right in. He bonded so closely with my Doxie, Brody, it was quickly determined Jonely was going to be Brody's dog. Jonely has femur defects in both legs that cause him to walk a little funny, as if he'd been riding a horse too long, and his tail has a permanent crimp in it from the break. Every day is a new day to Jonely and he takes extreme joy in the little things in life. Jonely is our resident ear cleaner and makes sure all the cats and dogs in the house have clean ears and a snuggle buddy whenever needed. Jonely has the sweetest moist brown eyes and lives to be loved. He is still not at all a fan of children or strangers but hasn't yet met a dog or cat he didn't believe he could make fast friends with. Jonely is such a sweet pea and the perfect fit in the pack.

This was Jonely and a Husky/ Lab pup I was fostering at the time as well. Jonely was so tiny! He's always been such a sweetheart with every foster or new addition. He truly is love in a fur coat.

Bonzai was my Wirehaired Pointing Griffon foster pup that Brody and Jonely took under the collective wing. It never ceases to amaze me that purebred dogs and puppies would end up at our high kill shelter. Yet people still buy... :-( Bonzai was adopted by a family with a farm! :-)
