I fell in love with Louis instantly; he was the sweetest "little boy" I could imagine, so home he came with me. I knew he was a standard dachshund, so he'd be bigger than our other two minis, Henry and Daisy.
Our vet says the heaviest standard she's ever seen weighed 26-lbs; at one year, Louis already weighed 30-lbs., all muscle and OCD. He flies through the air, and spends all day making up games. He's a ball freak. and has a long memory; one time, he woke my husband up in the middle of the night with an urgent request to go outside, and when he went, he didn't have to "go" at all - he was just worried about the green ball he had left on the front lawn some time ago!

Congrwtulations Louis
You certainly are handsome big strong boy. My 3 girls would love to meet you if you did not live so far away. Hope it is not to cold this winter for you. Glad to see you as DOTD. Sorry it has been so long since we had a visit. Herbie crossed the Rainbow Bridge 9/4/2014 and I have 2 adopted girl doxie and little Pom plus a cat. Enjoy your extra special day of fame. You sound like a joy to be around.

Mr Handsome!
Louis you remind me of our beloved boy Dewy who went over the bridge a few years ago. He had the crack ball addiction also, and was a bed hog to boot! I hope your day of fame is filled with treats and balls.
