Baby Kodi
This is Kodi, her first day home. We got her at 10 weeks at the mall. Kodi came when there were no digital cameras. So most of these photos are scanned in.

I thought it would be fitting to put my first Doxie's profile up even though she is no longer with us. She will always be my #1 girl because she was my first.
My husband gave her to me for my 27th Birthday in 1996 from the mall. (Yeah, we know now that it is a no no!) Since Kodi was our "starter" dog she was very spoiled and ate what ever she wanted, got whatever she wanted and went everywhere with us. She was an only dog for the first 4 years of her life so we were her playmates besides two cats.
She had some back problems from jumping on furniture and climbing stairs. At the time we knew little about disk problems. Although, she never loss the use of her back legs she did get spasms once in a while and we had to medicate and contain her during those periods.
Sadly, we lost Kodi in 2006 to heart failure. We are thankful that even though she was in the hospital for a few days that she died with us in our bed as my husband and I held her until she took her last breath and crossed the rainbow bridge. We have an 8x10 photo of her placed in our family room. We like to think she is looking over our four dachshunds now. We joke that she left "The Book of Dachshund" to our next female dachshund that carrys the secret of how to rule the male doxies and humans!
She will always be THE WIENER DOG! I think of her always. She was our first and really our smartest of all six. She had many nicknames, and my favorite being Eeyore. She would walk around with her head down and I warned her if she kept doing that I would stick a pink bow on her tail!
We will love and miss you always Kodi! We will see again on the other side one day.

Every time my husband would come home Kodi would show off by ripping up her bed! He would say, "There goes Rip-N-Tear Eeoyre!

what a touching tribute! she reminds me of Herbie when he was a baby and a love her "action" pictures fighting her bed .I know you will always miss her. She will stay in your heart forever.

What a Cutie-Patootie!! I had to say goodbye to my 17 yr. old doxie Frankie this past New Year's Eve & my other 17yr. old Jesse James last July....I still miss them dearly. Thanks for sharing all her beautiful & fun pics.xoxo
