I met so many wonderful people on here. Sabrett was truly the love of my life. My little sidekick. I still cry over her all the time. Her 19th birthday would have been the 23rd and its been a rough week so far. I cant imagine ever being over her. Thank you Robin, Audrey , Brian and so many others for your kindness. Always with us


The passing of a friend was hard , but nothing like losing Dewy last year. Dewy's urn sits on top of our fireplace mantle, and each morning I place my hands on it and say good morning buddy with Tucker and Willie watching. It helps the healing process.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your girl. Our Teddy Bear passed with bladder cancer also. We took him to Purdue and they were able to give us more time with him. Just to let you know we had to say goodbye to our sweet girl Macy a couple days ago. It was finally figured out and she had an aggressive cancerous nerve tumor attached to her spinal cord. No treatment and not much time left. First night home was incredibly rough with intense pain. I just couldn't let her suffer like that. She's at peace and pain free which I am forever grateful. Now Baily and I have to figure out our new normal. It is incredibly rough on both of us right now. Not holding it together too well.The house is so quiet it is quite uncomfortable. I hope she has lots of buddies waiting for her at the Rainbow Bridge for loves and snuggles. Give Sabrett Extra kisses for us!

Hope all is well and you are enjoying some nice weather. It's been a rough couple of months on this end and no sign of improving. Macy has been having back issues again. We've been doing chiro and laser and next week acupuncture. But this morning she was completely down in the back end. The only Neurologist in the area is on vacation so I can't see him until the 9th of September and I made that appointment two weeks ago. Very frustrating. A friend is making her a cart so she can get around a bit. I'm just hoping she can use it. She doesn't appear in pain but this morning she had that sad look on her face and it kills me. So we wait and see and hope for the best. We've been doing steroids and crate rest as well since June and nothing is stopping it this time. My poor girl might not make it to 10 yrs. So give lots of hugs to Sabrett for us.

I just saw your post on our page. So glad that skunk kept on going. What a mess that can be. We have lots of them here as well. Macy started getting those fatty lumps too and she's 9. Sabrett being more vocal makes me laugh. I completely know all about that. I get told off on a regular basis as well by Macy - Bailey is pretty quiet. Man is she good at throwing a fit. Usually food and treat related of course. Mine love going to my parents at doggy dinner time because my dad makes them all (3 yorkies and my two) chicken with their dinner So glad to hear you are getting some sunshine!! Hope it sticks around awhile. So glad all is well! Don't work too hard and have a great week. Talk to ya soon.

PA is too cold in our book. We had a couple of days in the 80's and now it is in the low 70's. Of course we have had NO rain so it is pretty dry. I work for a water utility so DROUGHT is all I hear everyday -haha So glad to hear she's using her ramp! What a good girl. Hope our girl is happy and healthy and since the Easter Bunny is around the corner us girls wish you a wonderful SPRING like day!! Talk to ya soon.

Yes, it was a nice 72 degrees here this last weekend and suppose to be 70 all week. Sabrett, we will send you sunshine little one if we can!My girls spent the weekend laying in the sun while I cleaned up the yard. PA sounds really cold! I'm an accountant so end of year through March is a crazy busy time. I haven't been on the site for awhile. Hope you guys had a wonderful Valentines day and hope those rays of sunshine come in soon!

Thanks for stopping by Cory Jo's page, we were suprised to see that Cory was Doxie of the Day! Of course I didn't notice until the next day. It's cold here too and we're kind of getting sick of it. Cory's diet isn't going so well but hopefully he's staying at the same weight and not gaining. He gets less than the other dogs but I just can't deny him his treats, he loves treat time! I bet you look great in your winter coats Sabrett. we have trouble getting anything to stay on Cory, it just kind of slides right off his back, but he did get a hoodie from Santa to wear to the dog park but it's been to cold to go there. Hi there! We hope you are getting nice weather. It is very hot and dry here and we are ready for fall. We've been busy helping grandma and grandpa renovating their house. We entertain and they work hard. haha What better job could we have. The kitty is doing well and we all love her. Dogs don't know they are owned until there is a cat in the picture. A Perfect Day


Getting a message from Sabrett makes this old smile. Herbie wanted me to thank Sabrett for thinking of him. I can understand Sabrett for not wanting to go out in the snow. Herbie's adopted senior sister does not like to get her paws wet in the morning dew. I feel we are both very fortunate to have our seniors for best friends. Some days are harder than ever but Herbie would never leave my side when I was feeling ill and he was young so now it is my turn to stay by him and help him get around. Staying inside in the AC this summer. Tell Sabrett Herbie sends his love and doxie nose rubs.

Oh, and my girls hate the water. But something about the running creek and waterfall they love. And Macy will jump into a lake to catch fish. I learned that one the hard way. Crazy pups.

Well I hope Sabrett's blood work levels out. I know the one for the liver has been high for Macy in the past and they attributed it to her being stressed at the vet. The other I'm not familiar with. So glad you are enjoying some sunshine. Hope it lasts longer than expected. The kitten does "match" the pups. We named her snickers. I say if they find us we keep them because it was meant to be. I tease my dad and tell him she may start barking soon. haha Between their house and mine I think we are maxed out in the pet department. They have two acres that they all love but my dad says the problem isn't the room outside its the fact they all (pets and people)squeeze into the same bed. lolWishing you a great week.

Oh, forgot to tell you someone abandoned a kitten out at gpas and gmas so us 5 dogs have a new playmate. She chases us and we chase her. She fits right into the chaos and isn't phased a bit by us dogs. Mom says she's a lot less maintenance than we are! I will post pictures soon, it is too much.

Too cute. Love that you have to ride shot gun with mom. My girls love their snoozer seats. Can't get Bailey out of hers when we get home. I leave the car door open in the garage and she comes in after her nap. LOL Looking good little one. Hope that sunshine shows up soon!!!

Love your new pictures. Of course you are absolutely adorable in all of them. I have not had a rabies shot in about 5 yrs and my titer was in the normal range. Mom said no more vaccines for me. Texas does not accept the titer test but Mom & my vet are all ok with it. Glad to see you still like to go for car rides. I have not been in awhile but I may need to take a quick ride again soon. Take care and no that we think of you all the time

Macy is doing very well, thank you for asking. She is out of her crate 100% now. So glad she didn't mind it so much. That was a long 2 1/2 months. So glad to hear Sabrett's lumpies are just fat deposits. I can see as they get older we get more paranoid about their health. My dad and I are both very vigilant about our pups. He has 3 yorkies. Our vet says she doesn't see many pet parents like us. haha Did Sabrett get her new ramp yet? If so, does she like it? Yes, the spring has sprung here and the weather is in the mid 70's. PA Spring must not be until May. Glad to hear she is doing so well.

Sabrett will love her new ramp. My dad has made me two and my girls both love them. My house has gone to the dogs as well. I figure it is their house so guests will have to deal or not come by. haha I think those fatty deposits happen in most breeds as they get older. So glad she is doing so well. She's as cute as ever.

Macy is my first dog ever so I have been green in this area myself. I've done a lot of reading even before this incident but everyone has a different opinion so it makes it difficult. WE are their best health advocate and if it doesn't sound or feel right to me then I won't do it and I will find a different vet or specialist. She really hasn't improved this week but we have a 30 day run of prednisone with a gradual taper so we are hanging in there for now. Thank you for all the support!!

Thank you so much for the information/reply. Macy has a slight wobble in the back. It started with almost no use of her back legs. It is her T3/L3 about 3 or 4 inches up from her tail. My vet thought she was doing very well considering it all and didn't think she would need surgery. She also stated that the neurology conferences she has been to recommend Dr.'s don't give out steroids anymore but they never explained why. She said it is tried and true for these types of back problems so she gave us prednisone and some pain killers in case she is uncomfortable. Macy did not exhibit any pain while the Dr. checked her out but she was shocked at what the "major Vet university hospital" haha did not do for her. I've been through a few really bad vets and I really like my regular vet. Since this happened Thanksgiving day I really didn't have any other option. No one was even on call for four days at any of the hospitals I checked. I did not think it could wait. Glad to hear Sabrett has done so well. She's an amazing little girl and oh so cute! I've heard no way on chiropractor for doxies but I will definitely be keeping in mind if this becomes an ongoing issue. I have a personal chiropractor I love so I will talk to him about her. We do all we can for these little boogers I tell ya. Thanks Janet and give Sabrett kisses for us. have a great day.

I'm not quite sure how she did it. I'm guessing jumping off the couch. I have ramps and that is the only place she jumps from. I took her to UC Davis University Hospital and they recommended nothing but crate rest. They never gave her meds and released her to a little activity two weeks later. Then she had a relapse from being too excited and now we start crate rest all over again. Poor thing will be in there until the middle of February now and it started on Thanksgiving. She has her moments where she tells me off wanting out of there so I open the door and sit with her awhile and that helps. We go to our regular vet today because I want her to have anti-inflammatory and my vet doesn't like the direction I received from UC Davis. And from what I can gather from others who have been through this they cringe at what recommendation I was given to start. So glad Sabrett only had to deal with this once and not so bad it sounds. yeah the surgery here would cost $7000. so I was not looking forward to that and having Macy go through that would be awful as well. I will fill you in when I get more from my vet. Thanks for all the well wishes!!! Have a great weekend. Robin, Macy & Bailey

We laughed so much at your post on "Toy Animal Hoarders". The stuffing was from the soccer ball in the background. My girls destuff everything and they even do it in the middle of the night in my bed so I will wake up with stuffing all over the place. I clean and vaccum that stuff everyday. I don't complain they have a blast and at least they don't destroy anything that doesn't belong to them. I think Sabrett just needs another toy box! haha Wishing you all a fun summer.

So, sweetie, you're 12 now? That's Engli's age. Maybe mum would consider adopting an adult boy to keep you company like we did long ago. We had our old Basil as a single guy and we adopted Engli as an adult, and Basil was smitten with the new pretty girl and so much more content with her to cuddle him. Best thing we ever did. I really believe Basil lived longer with Engli for company. I don't think we would have just one doxie again.

Thanks for stopping by!! The girls are getting along great! And I can't stress enough how shocked I am at how well things have worked out. Macy instigates play time every morning for about 30 minutes. Macy is slimming down and Bailey is now 7.5 lbs. I am curious too how big she will get. The vet thinks she will only get to about 12 lbs max so about doxie size. Macy is now 17 lbs so she's a chunk. lol I will update as much as I can and added more pictures today. Yes, I need change my status to no longer the only child. You;re right, I'm looking at mom like what did you do and why is this brat still here. They do wonderful when out and about and not at home. But at home Macy feels her space has been very violated. I feel so bad for her but she is coming around. You would think that being 6 it wouldn't be such an adjustment but macy's personality has been such that she never loved other smalll dogs and just hangs out with them but doesn't play so I don't think her age has played a part. thanks for the well wishes and for stopping by!! Thanks for stopping by. Wishing Sabrett a wonderful Birthday and we agree she has to keep going at least until 30. I say so too. I'm six and getting a grey muzzle big time so I can relate. Macy is allergic to just about everything but mom. Grass, weeds, trees, bees and the list goes on. We do our allergy shot every two weeks and it has worked wonderfully. Doxies are not the cheapest little love bugs I will say that. Wishing you a wonderful Birthday and a happy healthy 2012!

Thank you so much for the vacation web site. Maybe a Lake Tahoe vacation this year is in order. Once the summer weather arrives. The only vacation we have taken was to Lake Tahoe and it was nice. Lots of pet friendly places to rent and outdoor restaurants that cater to and allow dogs. Hope you have a great weekend. Macy & Robin

Boy it does seem we have lots in common. You are up to a pack a day - too funny! Mom doesn't give me dingos anymore though. I literally would try to inhale them and choked and scared mom so no more. I get the marrow bones from the butcher now because I needed something to hold up against my strong jaw. They work great and I have pearly whites too. Haven't had any dental at all so far. Yes, mom hates to leave me! She won't even go on vacation without me so we don't go much. Loving all your pictures! Your profile is so cute. Hope you are having a fabulous 2011. Macy and Mom

Wow am I jealous of all your toys! Mom calls me the toyminator because I destroy about 3 or 4 a week. I just get ahold of one and don't let go until it is in pieces on the floor. We couldn't be doing better. The show was taped in mid August. Dad is taking good care of us, just pushing his raw meat diets on fellow Doxie owners after he saw how important it was for our little breed especially. Alice had a reaction to the rabies vaccine over a month ago, this Tuesday will be the 4th testing at $160.00 each. Most people test their dogs during an examination before the vaccines are administered. I am confident Alice's liver will return to normal soon (some dogs take up to 6 months to return to normal). It information like this that got the rabies changed originally to 3 years fromm the annual rabies. Someone has to be a prick to the vet community. Only by educating people one at a time can we save more animals. Most people don't even know that 40,000 dogs and cats died in 2008 from their livers exploding. All that did is have the EPA look into all "spot-on drop applications" and not a single recalled product. Can we say pharmaceutical companies run the vet field?? Just keep doing the right thing for Sabrett and she'll be just fine. Thanks again, maybe the laws will change soon, just maybe!

Hi there! Thanks for stoppin by. My diet has hit a wall since the weather has cooled off and the critters are no longer around for me to chase. I went from 20 lbs to 16.5 which was awesome! Mom was hoping I would get to 15 but that didn't happen. Not so sure my figure will ever be of the slender doxie type. Plus, I love to eat whatever I can get people anywhere I go to give me. Mom's hoping she can keep me where I am and not plump up over the winter. It is now cold and raining here. Mom cannot get me to run around the house much, I see no fun in that - booooring! My diet is going fabulous! Mom weighed me last about 3 weeks ago and I was down 3.5 lbs. My energy level is way up and with figuring out the allergy issues (Allergic to everything outside it seems and shots at home now - no more steriods etc..) change in diet (verus) and the chasing critters I'm the healthiest I have ever been. I average about 4 to 5 vet visits a year and so far we have only had the regular annual one. Mom's loving it and so am I. I just hope I can stay trim until my regular annual vet visit in March. Mom's hoping the winter doesn't get to me. So glad you stopped in. Are you up to anything fun this summer? Macy

Aren't you just the sweetest girl! I love to squeak toys too! They are the best. I had to have my nails trimmed today. Mom says it's almost a national crisis when I have to have them done. And girl, the RAIN! It's raining here and I was out on the patio for 30 minutes and just could not bring my self to step off and go potty in the rain. Don't tell, but I hide from the vaccum too. Hi! Thanks for the kind comments about Sophie and Schultz. I am glad you enjoy their pages. Yes, "The Weinerdog of Alcatraz" was Sophie's first starring role. She will be in a sequel soon. All I need to find her is a little tin cup. lol Sabrett is adorable. She reminds me of Schultz. They look like they can be brother and sister, don't they? :) I love the"Mouse Ears" photo. I love Sabrett! She looks so cute in her outfits! I bet she just loves modeling her accessories! Our Savannah has a little pink sweater with an argyle stitch with a pearl collar and we call her our little Sorority Girl.

We have only big dogs, but how cute is Sabrett! She looks like such a sweet pampered little girl! If Disney World needs a new mascot, I think we have found her! She does need boots, some Prada boots!I think this sweetheart should be Doxie of the month!!!
