Dackel is the cutest and smartest mini long-coat in the whole-wide world. AT least that is what his owner/pet tells him!
Dackel loves people and dogs, of all shapes and sizes. He really loves young kids (and the say doxies don't like small children) all the way up to older people. He has a great sense to figure out if people are dog lovers, and he approaches all sorts of folks while we are out for walks. Dackel is also crazy for dog pals, and is not at all put off by the bigger ones. In fact he has an Irish Wolfhound as a pal, a male that is 192 pounds and towers over him. They actually run and play, though the wolfhounds owner and I are always right on top, just in case!
Dackel's favorite breed is another dachshund, of course, but he is also very partial to Cavalier King Charles Spaniels.
Dackel has a very mellow laid-back personality and has been very good at sharing with the two different female rescues we fostered last year.
