Rupert and big sister Zowie.
Zowie never had puppies so when Rupert first came home Zowie would just be so motherly letting him jump, play bite and just plain harass her. Zowie loved to share her bed with him and still does...pure love.

I have always wanted a dachshund. Ten months ago, I took my mixed lab to the vet to remove stitches from a small benign tumor. I saw a picture of Rupert posted on their bulletin board: "Free to a good home". I already had my hand fulls with two dogs and two cats but I could not resist calling and bringing my mixed pomeranian to meet him. They were instant best buddies and I fell in love with him. I cannot really put it into words...I have always loved animals. However, Rupert is so unique in the way he makes me feel. He simply has to know where I am and what I am doing. He longs to be with me whenever possible. He looks up to me and trusts me. He was a gift from God at just the right time. He is my little blessing and has been such a joy. I will always have a "Doxie Blessing" by my side as long as I live.

Congrats, Rupert!
All the best at Christmas, Rupert! Glad you found a loving forever home. Glad your mom realized how special doxies are and adopted you. I'm adopted, too. I was almost three, and now I am ten and a half! I've lived in two different countries. Adventures await, my friend!!!Licks, Marley

Merry Christmas Rupert!
What a great week to be DOTD. Treats, people time and belly rubs, and then on Christmas Eve, and then on Christmas Day, and then on New Year's Eve, and then on New Year's Day! WOW! One lucky Doxie (just like me)! Bella Joy, Anne and Mike too.
