Lilly passed away on 8/29/13. She is now at peace with Daisy and Star. She was a much loved companion.
Lilly is a 12-year old long-haired black and tan miniature dachshund. She is a loveable and sweet RASCAL. She loves to chase the deer. She once chased 12 deer from the backyard. She also likes to chase the raccoons and fox. They are all frightened of her which makes her think she is quite the warrior.
Lilly lost her best friend Daisy when she was five years old. Daisy was our first dachshund who died unexpectedly in her sleep when she was 12 years old. Lilly and Daisy were inseparable and loved each other as much as two dogs could. Daisy would clean Lilly every night before they went to sleep and thought of her as her daughter. They were never out of each other's sight.
When Daisy died, Lilly went into a deep depression; refusing to eat and sitting in a corner of our basement all day.
Then we had the opporunity to adopt Star when she was 8 years old. The minute Star came into our home, Lilly's depression went away. Today, she and Star are devoted to each other as you can see in their pictures.
Lilly was devasted at the death of Star on November, 30, 2011. She now has new companion named Ava. They truly love each other.

It's nice to see such a sweet and beautiful girl remembered and honored years after her passing! Just like Star you will always be DOTD in you're family. RIP sweet Lilly
