This is Cooper, named after my car a Mini Cooper, DOB 10/29/2009. However, Cooper is now over 16 lbs so he has offiically reached the "standard" weight for Dachshunds.
I bought Cooper when he was less than a day old from a local breeder I found on DailyDoxie.com. I watched her site for a little over a year and when I saw that she had a pregnant female I was interested in, I jumped at the chance to get one of her pups! It just so happened that Cooper was finally old enough to come home to us 2 days before Christmas 2009. And of course my husband got him for me as my Christmas present.
Cooper is really something else. We call him "moose". He is extremely aggressive when it comes to getting what he wants - FOOD! This dog will jump in your lap when you are eating dinner and literally crawl in the dishwasher while you are loading it. He lives to EAT. It is a challenge to keep his weight under control.
He is a mama's boy and must be with me at all times. He sleeps preferably on my left side - under the covers. A very routine driven dog, that is easy going with anything that doesn't involve eating. My other Dachshund is the lover and Cooper is the Alpha.
