Zoe came to live with us in February of 2009. We had lost our Cassie in December and were waiting until spring before we would look for a new one. But ---
Our favorite kennel came in possesion of Zoe and knew she would be a great addition to our family. It seems her owners needed money to pay their license for their kennel and were willing to sell her. She was being breed to a chiuahua and basically kept in a crate most of the time. When they first put Zoe into my arms she was shaking like a leaf and terrified. I thought she had been crossed with a beagle because I had never seen a doxie this color. I was informed she was a full blooded mini. She has the bluest eyes I have ever seen. They can melt your heart or cut right through you.
We could see Zoe's ribs she was so thin when we first got her. She had just had a litter before they sold her. Now she has filled out very well. She loves to run around out back. She hops all over the place like tigger.
When it is mealtime she sits up and begs. She just started doing that on her own. She won't take a treat from us she has to have us throw it then she runs it down. What a silly girl.
She is always growling and barking at my grandson so we believe she has been terrorized by a male teeneager. We can not be sure but other dogs who have come out of this kennel have the same reaction to young males.
My husband tells me that she sits in the window when I am gone and when I get home her tail never stops wagging. She is truly a mommies dog. When I sit down she is in my lap or she follows me where ever I go in the house. She sits at the computer with me.
The other night while she was sleeping she started crying and wimpering in her sleep, then all of a sudden she just started wagging her tail. So I think she was having a night mare and Mommy came to her rescue.
Don't tell her but she has Mommy wrapped around her little paw.

Hello Zoe
You look so cute with your stuffed annimals. My girls would have had the stuffing ripped out of them before I could snap the picture. You have beautiful eyes.
