Keeping Track of His Kingdom
Gus likes sitting in the window while I work at the computer or the sewing machine. He likes keeping track of the traffic on the street.

Gus is 12 years old. He is a beautiful animal who loves people. There is no hesitation when meeting someone - he rolls over and asks to get his belly rubbed! I once had one of those woman parties with about 20 ladies present. He shamelessly went to each one and rolled over. He got lots of treats and belly rubs. Nothing dumb or shy about that dog. Gus is extremely stubborn. As I call him, he always looks at me back over his shoulder - as he continues on his way. And what a digger. I have conceded that the back yard is his but I still try to plant flowers. Forever hopeful. That dog is my buddy. He senses my every mood and is quick to provide comfort. Mr. Personality Plus

Keeping Those Badgers Out
Gus takes his guard duties very seriously. He spends much time digging holes and checking out the ground for varmints. He is successful - I have yet to see a badger in the yard. Good Job!

After a Hard Day of Badger Watching
After a hard day of keeping the yard badger free, a well deserved rest..

Mmmmmmmmmmmm Good
Gus may be short in size but he dreams big. He spent hours burying this rawhide, then digging it up and reburying it. I found it hidden in my basket of clothes, behind chairs as well in every flower bed. Watching him trying to get this through the dog door was so funny. It is a wonder he did not strain his neck carrying around.

Stop and smell the roses
Even Gus needs a break from fighting badgers to enjoy Mother Nature
