Favorite food:
Charlie's favorite food is Evanger's Chicken and Rice dry, Life's Abundance and whatever tidbits he can get from mom and dad.
Favorite treat:
His favorite treats are Healthy Pet Net Dental treats, dried liver and Bil Jac Little Dog training treats.
Favorite toy:
His favorite toy is a small squirrel stuffy with a squeaky in it. That is until his housemate Abby stole all his toys.
Favorite spot to sleep:
In bed with Mommy and Daddy of course
Archenemy:
Outdoor Cats! and getting his nails cut.

We got Charlie from a woman who does rescue. He was found in the Lakewood, Toms River NJ area and his owner was never found. Everyday he seems to come out of his shell more and more. Charlie loves walks and especially loves the woods. he is a true hound constantly seeking out something to chase and attempting to go to ground when he finds a hole lol We hope to train Charlie for Earthdog and complete in this sport. Charlie has a beautiful pattern and overall conformation save for the hump on his back. We love his little feet and his outgoing personality. Charlie truly loves everyone he meets on his walks as well as other dogs. He enjoys his trips to PetSmart. I am just in love with his beautiful head piece especially. We are new to the breed, and wanted a Doxie badly. We are now forever converts (prior GSD breeder) and will be switching over to this amazing, heart grabbing breed. Charlie weighs 16 lbs and is therefore considered a Tweenie IMO since he is not as long or tall as a Standard Dachshund.
*** Update 5/09 Charlie surprised us all by being naturally sensitive to both my anxiety disorder and the pain I go through with my back disorders and is now officially my Service dog. Charlie has his ID, vests and accompanies us in public where he not only watches over Mom but is a goodwill ambassador for his breed by being approachable and loving attention from all human beings. People love him and love to hear his story. I will be sure and take a photo of Charlie in his "work clothes" to share with Daily Doxie :)
