Maggie-longhaired , Daisy- smooth red, Dooley-smooth red male (crossed rainbow bridge 6/28/2008). Dooley was my first dachshund that I got when I started having my cancer treatment. He became my focus and the love of my life. After I was well when he was about 4 he started getting ill and we put him on meds but his health deteriorated over the years so I had to put him down.(worst day of my life) We got Daisy to keep Dooley company but when he started getting sick he was not playful. So then we got Maggie and I now just have these two adorable princesses. Daisy has a sock fetish, I wonder if any other owners dachshunds have this thing for socks!

Congratulations to all cute doxies
I enjoyed looking at the pictures and reading the profiles. I lost Herbie 9-4-14 who was my canine soul mate. I adopted June, a senior girl, and Kourtney a young playful girl when Herbie was 14. Kourtney has a shoe fetish. She will still my shoes and fight anything that. gets near them. Never chews them just wants to keep them. Problem solved by me keeping them away from where she can reach them. Hope you and your family have a happy Easter.

Happiest of DOTD Days to all three and especially to you!
I am recovering from a severe injury suffered this winter thus I can relate to how important Dolly was to you. Bella Joy, Maci Grace and I have a deal to wait for one another at the "bridge" I hope that we all are still many years away, but consider: Dolley taught the others how to love. Love has no bounds or limits. Someday you all will be young and happy together. Until then, revel in Daisy and Maggie as much as I revel in Bella and Maci and Anne too! Mike.
