UPDATE MAY 15, 2010: Susie Pearl was just admitted to the icu at Texas A&M Vet schools hospital for what appears to be pancreatitis. They say it could have killed her. She was throwing up blood. She will be there til at least Sunday. Please pray for her!

Susie is home now from her stay at Texas A&M's vet hospital...she has pancreatitis and now is on a low fat high protein diet. No more people food and only low fat treats!

Susie Pearl...She was given to me by my husband for my birthday. I have always wanted a red Mini Doxie. My grandma Pearl and grandpa Ed always had a red doxie named Susie. So our Susie is named for those Susie's and my grandma.
We found Susie's breeder online and she actually wasn't to far away (abt 50 minutes).
Susie has brought so much joy and happiness into our lives!

Susie Pearl is a special girl...when she was 6 months old we found out she had a genetically compromised immune system which caused her to get Demodex Mange. But 3 treatments and getting spayed took care of it. She now has the softest smooth coat most people have felt on a smooth coat dachshund.

She is now a well traveled Doxie. In February of 2009 she flew in cabin with us to California.
In October of 2009 we added a baby black and tan to our family her name is Stormy and she is Susie's adopted sister now!
We hope to fly with both girls to California to visit Susie Pearl's sister Sammie.

Come visit my Blog..... http://susiepearl.blogspot.com/
and check out her pedigree @

We fostered Sammie who is Susie Pearl's baby half sister, until I took her out to her furever home with my cousin. She is now a spoiled girl in sunny California

Whooo wee we know about pancreatitis.....

Both of our doxies had this horrible illness last year and Oscar has had one recurrence of it since then. Ours got it from a new pack of treats we gave them. It was such an awful thing to go through! I have tried to spread the word around to my dog owner friends about this because it can happen at any time to any dog. We wish all of you and your beautiful fur babies well. Keep us posted on the recovery!

Hi Susie Pearl

Great name and with a lot of history and love. Your pictures are so cute. Cute picture of you and Stormy snuggling. By the way I just live south of you near Houston. All of us Texas Doxies need to have a special meet up. Sounds like you are a well traveled lady..I have never gone past Austin. 10 bones to you and Stormy. Glad your Mom fostered Sammie. Have a great day special girl
