Coffee's favorite thing to do is play catch with a tennis ball. Every evening after I eat I HAVE to play catch with him. He knows when I take my dishes to the sink its time. He comes right up to me and drops a old chewed up tennis ball at my feet. He turns his head sideways to beg with this look of desperation on his face. Who could say no to that.
Coffee is gentle tank! hes a 22 pound muscular but not fat, he has big paws and wrinkled front legs he has a big dog bark. My wife says he's a German Shepherd in a little dog suit. Sable and Baby are 18 pounds each and always hungry. Bosco is only 12 pounds the smallest but has the biggest attitude he leads the others astray.
Sable and Baby love to nap on my lap while I watch TV. it does not take long for the little boys to join them. Each always take the same place on my lap. They know which spot is theirs. Have you every tried to watch TV with 4 dachshunds on your lap? The little girls also love to be in the kitchen when we cook. My wife get mad when I "accidentally" drop goodies for them. She says they are fat. she's a vegetarian thats why we have baby carrots for doggy treats.
Bosco loves my Wife and is only 2 steps behind her no matter what. He's a rescue dog I got this summer (2009) he still learning the house rules that the others already know. He taught the others to get on top of the sofa to look outside. He thinks I tell on him but he doesn't know the pillows on the floor are the give away. He doesn't pee in the house but he doesn't like to pee outside either. He to busy looking for that "Alien" cat he saw earlier through the window. He knows he gets a time out in the doggy kennel if he doesn't do his thing outside. But to him its worth it he's a Dachshund he's tuff. I jokenly say that he'll do so much jail time he'll probably come out with a bunch of tattoos. He's learning! I just created my first Youtube.com video.

In memory of this two wonderful creatures that are at the very center of my heart. Livington (right)died in September of 2005 of a heart attack and Zuri (left) died 3 weeks later of a broken heart. They brought happiness to me and my Wife for nearly 15 years, I miss them so much. They will always be in my heart. Livington was my little soldier he marched around the house guarding it with his life while Zuri my lovely little girl napped all curled up under her blanket usually with her nose sticking out. In 1999 Livington got paralzed in his back legs when everyone told us to put him to sleep we decided to go the other way and took him to the Vet School in Ames Iowa for back surgery he made a full recovery!

Hi Doxie Gang
Seems like each one has there own little spot in life.Your house must always have something going on.Just a little tip on Doxies that do not always do their "business" where and when they are suppose to. When my Herbie was small I would always take him out on a leash and then reward him with treats and praise him for being such a "good boy". Doxie's will do anything for a treat and praise. Sorry about Livington and Zuri. I know they will always have a special place in your heart. Looking at your pictures is like looking at a picture of dachshunds in all shapes and sizes. Congratulations to you for taking in a rescue. I am sure you will be rewarded with true devotion for a lifetime.

Love baby carrots? Sure, why not? Mine like snap peas and strawberries too, it's good for them. Looks like you have a great gang there to watch TV with. Congrats on being the DOTD!
