I have seen him walk on it, but "limps" whenever Auntie looks at him--what a weenie! My Mom still crazy about that dumb Farmville game! She says she may not last much longer. I was pottying in my yard when I was hit from aout of nowhere. I dashed past momma truck and hid under the car so they couldn't get me! When momma grabbed me and tried to run for the door, one of the mean pitts knocked me out of her arms on the porch. The pitt pinned me down and was opening her mouth when momma screamed nooooooo and grabed the pitt and threw her off the porch. Momma was knocked down by the other pitt, who wasn't really in attack mode, just excited. The other pitt was a diffrent story. It came snarling back toward the front porch but momma dove on me and sheilded me with her body. The pitt scraped up her back trying to get to me. I peed all over myself and momma. The owner next door finally came and pulled her off. The really crappy thing was that there was a guy sitting on his porch across the sreeeet and he did absolutely nothing!!!!!!! Momma was yelling for help and he just sat there, didn't even pick up a phone and call police. The neighbor was fined and the pitt went to doggy jail. The pitt did her time and the owner gave her to his brother who has a farm out in the middle of nowhere! It was all really scarey. I got scratched up on my belly and my ear was bleeding and momma had claw marks on her back. Momma says her momma bear instinct took over when she saw me being attacked-thats what gave her the strength to throw a 50 pound pitt off the porch!!! We are all right! I stayed up almost as late as you did last night. Mom and I went to bed at 2 this morning. There were lots of fireworks in the air, which I don't like. Mom tried to show me everything was ok so around midnight she picked me up and took me outside. We could hear the fireworks but couldn't really see them so all I heard were some really loud pops in the air. It's funny, I'm not bothered by the vacuum cleaner or other loud things inside the house but loud noises outside the house really scare me. They are the coats that were styled like a horse blanket. We weigh 11 and 12 1/2 pounds. Mom ordered us the 14" coats. They fit us real well and go right in the wash machine. Another cool thing about the coats is that they have a d-ring attached right on the top, so the leash snaps directly onto the blanket. No harness or collar needed. Macy doesn't have one yet, so Mom still has to put a harness over an older coat that Mom's had for years! There is also a website dachshunddelights.com that looks like they might have some good fitting coats. We got our Hug-A-Dog harnesses there and they fit wonderfully. Another website that has some nice coats is sstack.com. It is a place that sells stuff for horses but also has several different styles of coats that fit pretty decently and also launder well. Mom's ordered us coats from there before. they have some nice fleece liner type coats. Almost like a sweater. And they cover the chest and belly area, where we don't have much hair. We were thinking of staying home but then friends asked us to go out with them and their 3 kids (who are like nieces and nephews to mom), so we'll probably go. They say they're taking their dog. Yeah, I didn't bark at the bunny or do my little whinny-howly thing I do when I see critters. I was just so shocked. Clearly, the bunny had no idea I would eat him given the chance. Our bunnies are brown here. We live in a subdivision but have a field 2 streets away and there are puh-lenty of bunnies there. They dig holes under our fences so they can go from yard to yard. We have two holes from the bunnies. Fortunately Mom is smart enough to know that the bunnies dug the holes, not me. I miss Joe too. I hope all is well with him, his mom, and her mom. I was getting ready to put a down payment on a beautiful silver dapple from a breeder when I came across peanut's picture on the web. She's on the couch with this scared look on her face,her eye oozing with just patches of dapple. Over the next few days, I kept coming back to her photo. I finally called and went to see her. I started to turn around twice on my way there. Like your LOlajean, peanut was the last pup left and the runt to boot. She also weighed 3.2 pounds!!! He brought her out and set her down. She gave this little sigh as if to say" I've got to cute or she'll turn me away too" She walked up to me, placed her paw on my foot and went ROO-ROO. I said "your a tiny little peanut" and her butt was wiggling so hard she fell over-I was done in. Best decision I ever made. She is smart and has the personality of 10 dogs!! If you freeze them completely, then you would want to eat them outside, cuz it could make a mess on your floor. If you want to eat them inside for a little treat, then don't freeze them completely, you can eat them quickly without makin' a mess on the floor....mom makes them both ways. You can do the samething with Peanut Yogurt Cubes....8 ozs. Vanilla Yogurt and 1/3 cup of Peanut Butter...melt Peanut Butter in microwave, then mix with Yogurt....spoon in ice cube tray and the samething applies about freezing as the Pumpkin ones....they are sooo delish! Mom started makin' these cuz of Killian's obsession with dairy & pumpkin! I know you are very brave and all critters in your yard should do what you say, but snakes can be particularly tricky. They don't think in the pack mentality so they won't take their place in the pack. We have LOTS of snakes in Texas. We have both poisonous and nonpoisonous but I say stay away from them all. Snakes look kinda like garden hoses. And an 8 foot snake is very long. It's probably more than 3 times as long as you are! So please promise me you'll be very careful. So, when you eat them they are kinda crunchy but they tickle cause they're buzzing. Very fun. Mom thinks it's icky that I eat them. My little brother hunts sticks all the time. I usually sun bath on the deck and sometimes take a dip in my pool. But of course I bark at EVERY person that walks by..or that I can see. Just have to let them know who's boss! The one thing that I totally hunt is the red laser light that my mom plays with me with. It's sooo fun in our backyard at night because I can really see the light and I try SO hard to catch it. My tails wags so fast it causes my butt to go back and forth....Mom and Dad usually laugh at that. My brother gets involved too but he doesnt "see" the light..he just chases me because I am running. One morning about a month ago, Mom was working in the living room and the back door was open. I was in the back yard sniffing and exploring and then I saw it in the sky. It's this basket thing with a round thing on top and it lives in the air. It just kind of lingers in the sky and every now and then sounds like a dragon. I've seen airplanes and birds in the sky before, but this was weird. I ran in to get Mom. She checked it out and told me everything was ok but I made her take me out in the front yard too to see if there were any there. There weren't. I didn't like it because I couldn't reach it or smell it and I couldn't tell what it was. That said I will now tell the story of the hawk. I was out on my deck with mama having a bark and a hawk flew down close to us and mama said "Watch out Bubba that big old bird will get ya" I thought mama was joking!! Later I went in the yard to potty and my human brother and his friends were out there and mama was out there and that big old hawk swooped on me and almost got me. Mama started yelling and daddy came outside and said she was nuts. But mama called to me cause I was far away and I satrted running to her and that mean old hawk chased me and swooped between my mama and daddy and almost got me. He wasn't afraid of mama and daddy at all. After that mama would only let me go out with her if I had on my leash. she was so scared!!!
