My Dad did lots of research on different breeds of dogs. He knew he liked Dachshunds. His neice Slinky is a dachshund/black lab mix informally known as a Dab or Lachshund (who looks like a regular size dachshund just with a larger more lab like head).
One day he made an hour drive to come meet me and see what Miniature Dachshunds were all about. I was the only one left out of my litter and I was starting to wonder if anyone would ever take me in as their own. As I was carried out the door of the little white house where I was born I saw his eyes light up. Love at first site and I was in the car on the way to my new home within the next 20 minutes.
Soon when we get a bigger house I think I might get a little brother or sister to play with. I love my Dad and he loves me! :-)
I hope to one day be big buddies with my cousin Slinky. She is a senior citizen and I might say I'm a little too hyper for her right now, I make her grumpy.

Uh oh!
Oh no Dad that isn't a flip flop on the shelf behind me that you just saw me chewing on....and I don't like to hide things in my bed at all.....oh no not me (lol)
she loves to hide things in her bed and knows she isn't suppose to chew on shoes...when she sees you notice that she is chewing one she usually just drops it and is like do do do and pretends she wasn't doing it

You sure are a pretty little girl. Your coat is so shiny and your eyes are so bright, you are just too cute! I am glad your Dad brought you home. You were not the last one chosen, it is just that the BEST are SAVED for Last, and you certainly look like the best. p.s. tell Dad not to leave his old stinky shoes next to your bed and you would not have to chew them . (just a little doxie trick from one old doxie dude to one cute doxie girl.)
