Millie is a snuggle-bunny and loves to cuddle. She is extremely gentle and loving. Her face, chest, tummy, and paws are tan, and the rest of her coat is light and dark gray, and it gets somewhat curly when it gets a little long. (Although her coat appears to be somewhat coarse because of its gray color, it is very soft.)
Last July, she was taken for an eye exam because she had developed a cataract in one of eyes. We were floored to learn that she was completely blind in both eyes, not because of the cataract but because of "Sudden Acquired Retinal Degeneration" (SARDs), which has an unknown cause and typically strikes middle-aged female dogs. Millie is adjusting quite well to her blindness, with the help of Darma and her mom and dad.

Hi Millie
Wanted to stop by and see how your eye treatments are going. Does you mom know if there is anything that can prevent blindness as us doxies age. I know my mom would like to know because she has noticed my eyes are no longer shiny like they used to be. The vet told her everything is ok but she still worries. Hope you are doing better. LOL

We are soooo sorry to hear that Millie is havin' some health issues. Mudder had a 17 year old doxie Jesse James, that developed a corneal ulcer about a month before he passed away from kidney failure....it never healed completley either. Millie will be in our prayers and we are sendin' mega healing rayzzz to precious Millie.....and (((hugs))) to mudder, because we know how worried she is.xoxoCassidy

Hello Millie, Darma & Mudder
My mudder was just gigglin' at your snoozin' pics....she says, you have snoozin' down to an art!! BOL It sure has been one really HAWT & HUMID summer here in Ohio, but I still won't have anything to do with that swimmin' pool mudder got us!...nope! I just like runnin' around the yard like a crazy girl....the other day I got so full of myself with my runnin' skills, that I smacked right into the shed...bounced back a few feet....got right back up and continued on! My siblings get a lil' irritated with me outside, because I just go crazy and I run into them while they are basking in the sun...geez! they can be grouchy about it! Hope you pretty girls have a fabulous week...10 bones:)xoxoCassidy

You are so pretty. My little Sully is also blind with cataracts--(he hasnt seen the canine opthamologist yet) but he does so well getting around. Thank you for sharing your story.
