I just rescued Georgie this week. She's an 8-yr. old doxie who was on her way to the county pound, because the owners couldn't afford to feed her and the (2) 6-month old Pit Bulls they got were trying to hurt her. She's a bit emaciated, thin hair (balding in some areas) and her skin is quite crusty...so I have been giving her medicated baths. Feeding her 3 x a day so she can put some weight on. Also, she has dew claws claws on her back feet...never seen that on a dachshund before. She's not shy at all and she acts as if she has known me her whole life.
At first she appeared to be a lil' scrapper....she was just being defensive, because she was on guard so much around those Pit Bulls...but she's already doin' so much better. Lil' Ally has befriended her the most....everyone else is like...whatever....your a doxie, so you can stay. She is very sweet & loves to give kisses.
Georgie will play ball until the cow's come home....as long as you throw it, she will go after it....and "no" she doesn't bring it back....she will only drop her ball, after I throw another one....she is a dachchund afterall!

Happy to report that Georgie is finally over long battle of bacterial infection that she suffered due to severe tapeworm infestitation. She's been on many antibiotics for months. She still has a very sensitive tummy issues, she takes pepcid daily for that still.

Hi Georgie
Just checking in to see how you are doing. I am now on an all meat diet myself and I feel like a young dude again. Hope you are feeling good and having fun with all the other little doxies. If I did not live so far away I know I would enjoy playing with you and all the other doxies. Being an only "child" I am sure it would take me a while to get used to seeing so many doxies at one time
