Nikki joined the family in August 2008 to help Wendy our first Dachshund out with issues of losing her sight. She has been a wonderful seeing eye dog and companion for Wendy. She completed her basic training class this fall and want to work her up to being a therapy dog. Not sure how that will work out. We recently added another Dachshund, Lydia, to be a companion for Nikki since Wendy is slowing down even more.
