Peepers came to me through a local rescue and is just a complete wild woman. The reason which caused her to end up in a shelter was simply that her first owners thought she was too much trouble because she was hyper. Born in January 2007, she is 9 lbs. of pure energy, and seriously one of the most hyper Dachshunds I have owned, but such a sweetie pie. She is completely obsessed with playing ball and will fetch for hours non-stop. As soon as you sit down, she will bring a ball and place it on your lap or drop it at your feet, if you ignore her, she will nudge it a little closer with her nose. If there were a twelve step program for "ball addiction & obsession" she could be a life long member. She is very intelligent and extremely stubborn, also true to the breed. In hopes to help calm her hyperactivity, we adopted her a sister, Gretchen. They seem to compliment one another very much, even though they are complete opposites.

A active and hyper doxie is a happy doxie, I just love it when my boys want to play and play. I hope you have many more years of chasing balls and being happy.

So thrilling to see an active girl as DOTD. I am glad you were adopted and was able to get away from your first people that did not understand that a puppy is suppose to be "playful" . Personally I think alot of people call happy and active "hyper"? Wishing you many more happy and hyper years.
