Gary was rescued from a puppymill in Parkersburg WV by the ASPCA. He was one of 1,000 dogs (mostly dachshunds) to be removed from unforgivable conditions. One Saturday morning, upon my arrival to our local animal shelter for my volunteer shift there was a buzz moving about the shelter. I knew there was someone special in the shelter. I greeted the kitties with my usual "Good morning furface" greeting and then moved on to walk a few doggies. I was stoped and told I had special volunteer duties for today. I was led to the back where there was 15 adult dachshunds in various kennels. Some were mini and some were standards but they all melted my heart. They didn't trust people and were in desperate need of socialization before they could be adopted. I visited Clarence three weeks in row and on the third Saturday he smiled at me. If you have a dachshund that "smiles" you know what I mean. I immediately arranged to take him home. We gave him a new name and called him Gary in hopes that he will forget his days at the puppymill. He is a totally new dog now, happy and loved by our whole family. He's the best dog you could ever hope for.

Ahhh! We hate that you had a bad start but we are sure you will now forever be a spoiled little one just like it should be. Lots of doxie hugs to ya.

i appreciate it! ive actually been looking for lower fat treats so i will definately give this a try (plus my hubbie likes beef jerky anyways :) ) daisy has lost the weight the vet said she needed to but i want to keep her below and healthy.. thank you
