Mommy writes: Lily Belle was adopted by my husband and I almost 7 years ago. She is the joy and love of our life. She has a wonderful personality and loves to snuggle on our chest and give hugs and kisses. She loves her extended family (aunt's and uncle's) and hates it when they all go home. She is a spoiled Doxie (Maybe spoiled is not the word.... How about overly loved!). Lily has been recently going to the local nursing home with her sister Muffin) to see her other Grandma. When they walk into the room, I can honestly say I have never seen so many smiles in one place! They are not "trained therapy dogs" but hey, it's only a piece of paper, right?? Doxie's ARE the best therapy one could ask for in life.
Lily is now trying to make friends with all the deer in our yard. We have 10 of them that come to the bird feeders next to the house. We do keep a close eye on her when she is out there with them (even tho she is fenced in).
Lily turns 7 years old on January 31, 2011. After all these years with our precious girl, I have loved EVERY day of it!

Hi Friends.... I had a great summer and loved hanging out in my backyard. The deer that I keep an eye on are growing big and even had 3 babies. The babies are not scared of me even tho I woof loudly at them. I caught my very first squirrel! He decided to come into my domain and I showed him who the boss was. He was talking up a storm at me and wiggled alot. Mommy caught me red handed (or should I say caught me with the squirrel in my mouth) and gave me the "drop it" command. I dropped that bad boy like a hot potato. Mommy was pleased to see that I listened and even more pleased to see that bad boy take off. I bet he never shows his face again around here (tee hee hee). I got to go fishing, did quite a bit of swimming, worked on my belly tan and hung out with my doggie and human friends. I'm looking forward to many more happy years with the ones that I love so much!! Hugs to all, Lily Belle xoxox
September - 2011
Our beautiful Lily Belle (and the love of our lives) started having cervical pain 2 weeks ago. After many trips to her Vet, she will be seen by a Neurologist next week at Cornell University. (Our local Neurologist is on vacation for a month). Seeing her like this is killing us emotionally and physically. We are praying that all will be OK.
Well, it's official... Lily has a ruptured disc in her neck between C2 & C3. She will have surgery this afternoon (09-21-11) to repair it. She will have to stay in the hospital for at least a week. Because she has such deep pain with this injury they will be keeping her on the pain killers longer than normal. During the MRI yesterday, her neck was still twitching even tho she was knocked out. My poor little baby girl. Because we are 2.5 hours from home, hubby & I got a hotel room. Not much sleep for either of us. We will stay in town until after her surgery this afternoon, then will head back home. It's going to kill us having to leave her here but she is in the BEST possible place for this type of injury. For my beautiful Lily.... Mommy and Daddy absolutely love, love, love you Lily Belle and know that God will take good care of you! Until we get to see you again next week, our hearts will remain here with you sweet girl.
10-20-11 Update: Lily is doing amazing! Her surgery went extremely well, she is healing up very nicely. She has 2 more weeks of rest to go before we can start allowing her to walk. She is allowed to stand up when she eat's. We perform therapy on her 4 times a day to keep them little leg's strong. She is officially off all pain medicine's ~ Yeah! We still keep our fingers crossed that her good healing continues. Because so many friends wanted to be updated with her progress, Lily and I have decided to create our own blog. It's also been great therapy for me! Please check it out and leave us a comment on our blog to let us know what you think. Id like to thank Lily's friend Marley in India for inspiring us to do this.

Grandma & Muffin
This is a picture of my Grandma and her Doxie Muffin. Grandma loved me and Muffin soooo much! In April (2008), Grandma went on her final journey Home to Heaven. Mommy, Daddy and I have adopted Muffin and also Grandpa. We live all together in a big new house. We will forever love Grandma and will never forget just how much she loved us all!

Hi Lily Belle
The New Year is starting out GREAT. I am back to my old self, playing with toys, begging for food, wanting to go outside, you know all the doxie things. It is so nice to have such good friends like you and Muffin. My 14th Birthday is less than a month away and I am looking forward to more toys and extra treats.(Mom has been kind of stingy with the treats since I was ill) I have slimmed down to a good weight again and I think that is why I have more energy. Last week Mom let me go down to the barn with her and I got to hunt between the bales of hay. It was so much fun, but when I got home I was given a bath to get all the dust and spider webs off of me. Hope you are enjoying the sun in Florida. We are getting some much needed rain today so I will be sleeping in. Mom will be going to work at Natural Pawz (health food for dogs) . Hopefully I will get some treats when she get home. Yesterday I had a raw marrow bone to chew on for a few hours. Enjoy the Sun. Hope to hear from you soon. Give Muffin a wet kiss for me.
