Whiskey is my animal soul mate. I was finally ready for another dog and, of course, it had to be a dachshund. I started searching on the internet and found a site with a red, smooth male who was six months old and marked down. When I saw Whiskey's pitiful eyes, I knew we were meant to be. I begged my husband but he refused. I pouted. Then Christmas Eve, after a weekend in New York and a flight delayed four hours, my husband jumps out of bed after three hours of sleep to help my sister "move some book shelves." He returned a few hours later with my Whiskey. After I had shown him the picture, he contacted the breeder who held the little dude for us. Of course no good deed goes unpunished. Whiskey was so nervous he christened Michael's new truck on the way home. Michael has since forgiven him (and totally fallen in love with him).
